So we finally made it to SA -after some periods of no wind intersperssed with squalls of 50knots! It was fun, though a little scary- and Iexpect that the next leg will be a lot scarier - bigger waves and bigger weather. SA has been fun - more rain than you can imagine, which was a little disappointing, but have managed to go to the mountains, and go on a game drive. Now hanging out in my very nice hotel! Is so good to have a good bed and a bath....! Race leaves again on sunday, so hoping that the rain and crazy storms hold off.

I am going to sail around the world from Liverpool to Liverpool in the Clipper Round the World yacht race. The race is 10 months long, or 294 days, and goes eastwards, crossing the Atlantic twice, the Southern Ocean, the North Pacific, the Panama Canal and finally the North Atlantic. The charity that I have chosen is access2information, which is a small Amersham-based charity that funds health and education projects for poor children, families and communities in the Philippines and India. They don't take any overheads and all the money they raise goes straight to the projects in Asia, so please do be generous.

What is this race thing?
The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, is a round the world yacht race for amateurs. 10 identical boats race each other around the world. Go to http://www.clipperroundtheworld.com for more info and to follow the race, which starts on 16th September.
