I'm back on training next week, where I am going to learn how to be a racing sailor! Yes, I Know I am phenomenally slow at everything, but you never know. More of that on my return, and if I can work out how to upload pitures onto this site, you may even be able to see some of them

I am going to sail around the world from Liverpool to Liverpool in the Clipper Round the World yacht race. The race is 10 months long, or 294 days, and goes eastwards, crossing the Atlantic twice, the Southern Ocean, the North Pacific, the Panama Canal and finally the North Atlantic. The charity that I have chosen is access2information, which is a small Amersham-based charity that funds health and education projects for poor children, families and communities in the Philippines and India. They don't take any overheads and all the money they raise goes straight to the projects in Asia, so please do be generous.

What is this race thing?
The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, is a round the world yacht race for amateurs. 10 identical boats race each other around the world. Go to http://www.clipperroundtheworld.com for more info and to follow the race, which starts on 16th September.
